When I was 11 years old, my English teacher explained what it meant to be a Christian. I said that I believed, and I soon walked down the aisle of my church and was baptized.
I had been reconciled with God – I was right with Him in Christ – but it wasn’t until years later, when I was a freshman at the University of Alabama, that formation began. It wasn’t until God displayed Himself to me in a personal, dramatic way that I fell down on my knees before Him and said, “Lord, I give You all that I am and all that I’ll ever be.”
Before, it was all about me – what I desired and wanted. But when formation began, it was about not conforming to the world, but conforming to Christ.
