I recently read a Bible verse that I fear describes our lives in America today: “For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat” (Mark 6:31).
Maybe we get time to eat, maybe we don’t. But the point is that we’re constantly coming and going. Or we’re surrounded by and involved in constant activity. On top of this, we have so many things to worry about – our health, our job, our kids’ and grandkids’ well-being, fixing the car, caring for a discouraged friend... and the list just goes on.
How is it possible to let go of our anxieties and live a life of true peace? Jesus had an answer to the verse above. The Bible says, “He said to [His disciples], ‘Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.’”
You weren’t created to handle constant stress and pressure, and neither was I. So I trust you’ll take time to get away and rest so you can find the peace God intends for you.
May God bless you and give you His true peace,
