In all my years of counseling couples, I’ve seen that one of the most common things married couples struggle with is selfishness.
It’s not really a surprise. Selfishness has been a problem since the very first couple: Adam and Eve.
You know the story… God told Adam and Eve that they could eat anything except the fruit of just one tree. And what happened? They ate it.
So God asked, “Why did you do it, Adam?” Adam replied, “Oh, I didn’t do it, Lord, it’s my wife.” And we’ve been using this same rationale ever since, haven’t we?
In marriage – and in life – your number-one problem is you. My number-one problem is me. We explain ourselves away. We rationalize our problems.
And if you say that’s just a part of who you are, that you can’t change – you’re right. You can’t change. But God can change you. And God can change your marriage.
That’s why I want to send you my book, 10 Commandments of Marriage, as thanks for your gift this month to help share the proven truth of God’s Word with more people.
So I hope you’ll request your copy of 10 Commandments of Marriage today – and that God will use it to bless your relationship more than you ever thought possible.
