In looking at the end of Jesus’ life as He died on the cross, we also need to remember the rest of the story.

Jesus, who was totally God and totally man, suffered and died for the sins of the world. But that was not the end – it was just the beginning – because God raised Him from the dead!

Your sins and mine were nailed to the cross and that satisfied our holy God. That was salvation. Some people think that moment of receiving Christ is the whole Christian life. They say, “I’ve been forgiven! I’ve gone to the cross! I’m a Christian!”

It’s one thing to go to the cross and have your sins forgiven, but that’s just the beginning. You see, if you’ve received Jesus as Savior and Lord, it means He’s now Commander and Chief of your life!

You begin the process of being totally transformed. And His life and power should continually be working in you – changing you to become more like Jesus.

Our aim should be like the apostle Paul’s, who wrote…

“Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12)

I pray the proven truth of God’s Word is continually transforming your life. And I’m grateful for your partnership in proclaiming this life-altering message to others!
