In 2 Chronicles 7:13–14, God says, 

“If… My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The prayer below is based upon this Scripture. It’s a prayer of repentance and intercession as together we cry out to God for mercy on our land. 

God in heaven,

We bow before you in humility, acknowledging that you are the Sovereign Ruler over all things.

We praise you that as your people, we are called by your name. We earnestly seek your face today.

Gazing upon your perfection, we know how far short we fall as individuals and as a nation. We want to turn from our own wickedness and renounce the evils this country has embraced.

Father, hear our cry for mercy. 

Father, forgive our sin.

Father, heal our land. 

Amen.
