“And he left for Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch.” - ACTS 11:25-26

For several years, Saul (whose name was later changed to Paul) lived in relative obscurity in Tarsus. But when Barnabas witnessed what God was doing in Antioch and how many people were coming to the Lord, he set off for Tarsus to find Saul and enlist him to help teach these new believers. I think there’s an important lesson for us here. There is one place that God will never let us stay – and that is where we are right now.

God will shake our world, He will deal with us, He will touch us, and move us, and change things until He gets us to go where He wants us to go, and to become what He wants us to be. Just remember that. If you try to stay in Tarsus, you might soon feel the hot breath of God on your neck as He says, “Get in the game. I have work for you to do!”
