“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge.” - Psalm 18:2
Archimedes, a mathematician and physicist in the 3rd century BC, was famous for saying: “Give me a place on which to stand and a lever long enough, and I will move the world. Give me a lever long enough – and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.” That’s a pretty clear picture of how faith operates.
For the man or woman in Christ, the lever is faith. And the fulcrum on which we rest that faith is the Bible, God’s inerrant, infallible, holy Word. And the place where we stand is on Jesus Christ, our solid rock. Stand on Christ, exercise faith, and use God’s Word, and you will experience amazing results as you begin to move the world – to influence the world around you – in a way you can hardly imagine.
