A precious heirloom

A little girl asked her mom, ‘Mommy, do you remember that beautiful vase that is a family heirloom and that has been handed down from generation to generation?’ The mother was pleased that the little girl had taken notice of it, and she replied, ‘Yes, I am acquainted with that.’ The little girl then said, ‘Well, Mommy, you will also be interested in knowing that this generation just dropped it!”

We, as Americans, have a heritage, a history, a way of life that has been handed down to us from generation to generation.

As we celebrate the birthday of this great nation, let us be reminded again of the price that was paid – and that must continue to be paid - to ensure that we remain the land of the free and the home of the brave. May God bless America.
