"The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?"
Psalms 27:1

Do you know someone in the Old Testament named Igal? What about Gaddiel? Or Shammua? No? Then what about Joshua, and Caleb? We know their names, don’t we? Moses selected 12 men to go into Canaan to explore this land of promise. All 12 saw the same things, but when they returned, ten of them gave a negative report. “There are giants in the land. They are too strong. They outnumber us, we will never be able to win.” But Joshua and Caleb knew that God would give them the ability to do whatever was needed to conquer the land He had promised to them. God had parted the Red Sea. He had given them manna every day. He had provided a cloud to guide them. They said, “We just need to obey God and He will give us the land.”

Question: It’s easy to criticize the ten naysayers. But if you had been in that group of 12, how would you have voted? Would you trust the miraculous hand of God? Ask God to give you the courage to stand for Him even when you must stand alone.
