Faith is the victory

“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret…” - MATTHEW 6:6
When you watch a championship football team, you might say, “Boy, they won that game today!” But they didn’t. They won that game long before through training, through discipline, and through all that went into their preparation. That is the same with us.
The faith to live for God, in victory, comes day by day, week by week, year by year, in the secret places where we learn to trust and obey. It is in the secret place that we seek God, and He begins to lead us and empower us. That is where we learn to trust and obey, so that we can be victorious in the public arena.
The ability to trust – and to obey – is learned and refined when no one is around, when no one notices - and when no one applauds.
