"The Lord is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me?"Psalms 118:6
Most of us at some time have used animals to describe people’s reactions to fear, such as “deer in the headlights” or “burying one’s head in the sand” like an ostrich. We all experience fear and look for ways to cope with it. Daily we hear news of terrorism, political and civil unrest, loss of freedom, hunger, failing economies, disease … need I go on? Our verse today gives us good news.
The Lord is for us, so we need not fear! Scripture teaches that God casts out fear and gives us the power, love, and soundness of mind to live above all the cares and concerns of this world. So don’t be afraid. Place your trust in the God who is for you, and you will discover that fear is a defeated foe!
