How Big Is Your God?

How Big is your God?
"Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; surely I will help you, surely, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10

There is a funny cartoon that shows two little birds sitting on a limb. One bird is wearing a parachute. The other bird looks at him and says, “Sheldon, you just don’t have enough faith.” I like that cartoon because it reminds me that a lot of people walk around wearing parachutes because their faith is weak.

An eminent Hebrew scholar often referred to people as a “little godder” or a “big godder.” When questioned, he explained that a “little godder” limits God and worries about all kinds of trivial matters. On the other hand, a “big godder” sees how God is moving in history, believes the promises in God’s Word, and has confidence and expectancy about the future. I can assure you that God wants you to become a “big godder.”

Put your faith in Jesus and thank Him for the new life He gives to those who trust in Him. God is saying to every one of us, “Take off your parachute. Be confident in what I am doing in you and want to do through you.” Then – begin to fly!
