Jesus breaks down barriers
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." - GALATIANS 3:28
Jesus breaks down barriers! Nowhere is that more evident than in His encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well in the fourth chapter of John’s Gospel. During this one midday conversation, Jesus broke through an intense racial and religious division between the Jews and the Samaritans. He also broke down a degrading cultural barrier by speaking to a woman in public. Most of all, Jesus broke down the barrier that stands between God and you and me: SIN. The ground is level at the foot of the Cross.
As Paul says in our verse, we are all one, or equal, in Christ Jesus. Because of this truth, God compels us to break down barriers with the name of Jesus on our lips and the lifestyle of Jesus in our hearts. If we do that, we can change our families, our cities, even our world.
