When The Ordinary Became Extraordinary

"Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."Philippians 3:13-14
NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal credits his father with giving him the passion to succeed in basketball. His dad also gave him great advice: Instead of displaying trophies and awards, focus on future goals. Don’t live in the past, but think only about what tomorrow holds. That’s good advice for all of us, because it’s tempting to rest on our laurels and live in the past. Now there’s nothing wrong with celebrating accomplishments, but if we build a “trophy case” of our good ole days, we can lose our future focus.
So thank God for your past achievements, and ask Him to prepare you to press on and focus on what’s ahead. I guarantee that, in Christ, the best is yet to be!
