Let the club do the work
"I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!" - PHILIPPIANS 3:10-11
I love to play golf, so I’m always looking for ways to improve my game – to get more power and distance. Golf instructors will often say, “Let the club do the work.” But like many golfers, I often resort to using my muscle strength more than my form and club choice.
In the same way, trying to bear fruit for God by working under our own power is non-productive, even futile. Salvation in Jesus Christ means we have His resurrection power. In our own strength, we are limited, but, as Paul put it in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” So ask God to use you today as an instrument empowered by Christ’s resurrection life.
