Not at Home
“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”Philippians 3:20
What happens when you come to faith in Christ? You may not know the exact time or place that it happened, but if you are a Christ-follower, there was a moment in your life when you passed from death to life, from darkness to light, and from being lost to being found. It was a moment in time when you stepped over the line, and now you have a new citizenship which is in Heaven. It is not the result of something you did; it was bestowed upon you as you were born again into God’s family. That is why this world is truly not our home.
We are aliens; we are strangers. But while we are not “of the world,” we have an assignment from Jesus Himself to go “into the world” as His ambassadors, representing Him and telling others about Him – until He calls us Home to be with Him.
