Not What We Intended
"There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death."Proverbs 14:12
A contractor was invited to bid on a multi-million-dollar job. He took his bid to the office of the company president. While he was there, the president excused himself briefly. The contractor, left alone, noticed a paper on the president’s desk that was obviously a bid submitted by his competitor, but there was a coke can sitting on the paper. He decided to pick up the can to view the other bid. When he did, he realized that the can had been filled with BB’s that proceeded to run all over the desk and onto the floor. The contractor experienced “the law of unintended consequences,” and lost the opportunity to secure the job. This happens all-too-often when we try to run our own lives.
We make poor choices, we go in the wrong direction, or we are silent when we should speak. But there is good news. Even though we may need to experience the consequences of our wrong decision, God can heal, restore, forgive, and He can put us back on the path He intends for us to follow.
