Say What?

Say What?

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
1 John 4:9-10

Every profession has its own specialized language, or way of communicating its purpose and intentions. I have a friend who is an NFL quarterback. He recently shared with me one of the plays he called in the huddle. It went something like this: “Wide hustle 2 boss, right nasty, F slingshot, 12 wag hand back, X crack, can that with 200 jet Omaha X dragon halfback through, hey on the dribble cadence.” I thought I knew football, but I had to ask him to interpret this play for me!

God’s language, however, needs no interpreter. It can be understood by all people because God speaks the language of love. He not only speaks His language through His Word, the Bible, He also demonstrates it for all to see – for it is at the Cross of Christ that God communicates “loud and clear” His language of love to the world!
