"And a second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’"Matthew 22:39
One day someone went to Jesus and asked, ‘What is the number one commandment?’ Jesus replied, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ The crowd probably would have said, ‘Good answer!’ Every Jewish boy would have answered the question in the same way. But then Jesus added a second commandment. The first one is rather abstract, rather intangible. It is easy to say, “Oh, I love God.” But the second brings it down into the concrete and says we are to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. So, if you say you love God, the genuineness of that love is demonstrated by how you love others. That makes all the difference, doesn’t it?
