Christianity in a Sentence
/
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich."
2 Corinthians 8:9

Christianity can be summed up in one sentence: Christ became what we are so we could become what He is. Did you get that? When we unpack that sentence, we discover the basic doctrines of our faith. On the cross, Christ became what we are, taking our spiritual poverty, sin and unrighteousness, so we could become spiritually rich, forgiven and righteous. He takes our garbage and gives us His righteousness. We can now walk in newness of life and grow in the power of God in Jesus Christ. So let me ask you … Have you become what Christ is? You have if you’ve received Him as your Lord and Savior. So listen once more – Christ became what you and I are – poor in sin and unrighteous – so you and I could become what He is – rich in grace and righteousness. I believe we got the best end of that deal, don’t you!
