Double security

July 28, 2019
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one." - JOHN 10:27-30

Sheep are among the least secure of the world’s animals. Some wag said they disprove the theory of “the survival of the fittest.” Turn my dog Sonny loose, and he’s wild. Turn a sheep loose, and it just wanders off. Sheep don’t swim because of the weight of wool. They’re too afraid to drink from flowing streams. Sometimes they fall over on their back, and can’t get up.

The only place a sheep is safe is in the hand of its shepherd. We are sheep, Jesus is the Shepherd. He promises us double security because we are in His hand, and He is in the hand of the Father.
