Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." - ACTS 8:35-37
It’s a risky thing to give someone your heart. That’s what you do when you cast your absolute trust on a person. Suzy believes Bill’s pledges of everlasting love, gives him her heart and then finds he’s tossed that same bait to other women.
Philip tells the Ethiopian eunuch that to be Christ’s disciple he must believe with his whole heart. For the African fellow and all of us, this could sound like a risky venture. For example, giving Christ your whole heart means taking the risk of relationships. Some will have to be ended and others embraced.
Relationship risks rejection, but life in Christ is relational. Following Christ with your heart means you risk being open and transparent, you risk communicating your whole heart to people that they may see the Christ who dwells there.
At the end of his life, the Ethiopian doubtless made the same discovery as all others who choose Christ. The heart, believing in Him, is in the safest place of all!

Stop trying to “play it safe” when it comes to witnessing to and serving others in the name of Christ.
