Heart-worthy goals

October 24, 2018
"And they come to you as people come, and sit before you as My people and hear your words, but they do not do them, for they do the lustful desires expressed by their mouth, and their heart goes after their gain”. … I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. - EZEKIEL 33:31; PHILIPPIANS 3:14

Your heart will be frustrated if you elevate a desire to the level of a goal. When people’s hearts go after gain as their goal, they are set up for failure and disappointment.

A woman says her goal is a great relationship with her husband, happy kids and a beautiful home. These are great desires but improper goals, which are objectives another human being can block. The lady’s husband may reject her, her children make unhappy choices and there not be sufficient money to decorate her house.

A goal worthy enough to be the focus of the heart is to set your aim for something only God can block. Christ told the New Testament Philadelphia church that He had set before it a door “which no one can shut.” No one can block God-given goals. No human circumstance can throw you off track nor detour you from the goals you allow God to set in your heart. Don’t aim for gain, but for God-given goals. They alone are heart-worthy.

TODAY’S FOCUS
