How pure must it be?

October 26, 2018
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” - MATTHEW 5:8

Only pure hearts can look on pure holiness without being blinded. Only the pure can dwell in Heaven. So the big question: How pure does a heart have to be to live in the presence of God?

Imagine the world’s wealthiest man wearies with the “mediocrity” he believes is honored in the Baseball Hall of Fame. He creates the “Universe Hall of Fame.” There are only two requirements. First, an honoree must have played every inning of every game without an error and second he must have gotten a hit every time at bat. An error-less career and a batting average of 1,000 are all it takes to get into the “Universe Hall of Fame.”

And in Heaven. Impossible. Then Christ comes. He removes the “errors” of sin blotching the human heart, and transfers to all who will receive it His “batting average” of 1,000 when it comes to Law-keeping. All it takes is a perfect heart to dwell in the presence of God and Jesus Christ makes this impossibility possible!

TODAY’S FOCUS
If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, rejoice that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life—the “Universe Hall of Fame.”
