The animist believes the world is crammed with deities who must be appeased. The dark, unseen world is terrifying. Jesus beings us into relationship with the Father, and we need no longer shiver before a myriad of unseen spirits.
Knowing God as Father puts a new light on the “seen” world as well. Pain and perspiration and things we don’t understand sometimes mark daily living. But even that which remains obscure is bathed in the light of His love. We discover that in His presence, “even the darkness is not dark” (PSALM 139:12).
