Not built to collapse

July 20, 2018
For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. - 1 CORINTHIANS 15:21-22

Death was man’s “gift” to himself. God didn’t design the heart to get sick and die. Human beings introduced decay and death into the world through their rebellion.

Albert Speer was Hitler’s architect, and said Hitler ordered him to design massive structures according to the theory of “ruin value.” Speer was to project what a building or monument might look like after centuries and design structures to retain their impressiveness. Human beings can try to disguise death and decay, but the reality is that “in Adam all die.”

But Christ brings a new quality of life to the human heart. This life spans the material world and the spiritual world. A person lying in an intensive care unit with a flat line on a brain scan who has Christ continues to have His life. The new heart Jesus brings us is not designed according to the theory of ruin value, because it experiences no ruin, no decay, just the constancy of His vibrant life surging within!
