Second chance

The first of the year provides an ideal opportunity to begin again and for many of us that means making New Year’s resolutions. Most of us have set goals that prayerfully will lead to positive and productive results in our relationships and lifestyles. Yet very few of us keep our resolutions. Why?

The bottom line is, we are human. We make mistakes. We lack will power. We fall. In fact, “falling” is in our DNA, going all the way back to the Garden of Eden. And just like in the Garden, we need the help and grace of God to get back up. No matter how determined, disciplined or dedicated we are, we cannot do it alone. But do not despair. I have some good news for you. Our God is a God of the second chance.
