Settling Questions

May 05, 2018
…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.  -Romans 10:9-10
Are you on your way to Heaven? There are some simple questions that can settle the issue.

First, do you profess to be a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ? The real test of your faith is not merely professing Christ in the secrecy of your own heart, but before others at work, school and all daily activities.

Next, does the Holy Spirit bear witness to His presence in your lifestyle? “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,” says Romans 8:16. Receive Christ and the Holy Spirit moves into your heart, bringing an increasing awareness that you are a member of God’s family.

Finally, do you find yourself becoming more Christ-like in your lifestyle? The question is not whether you have more money, better health, fewer problems, but whether or not in the midst of all, you are being conformed more and more to Christ’s image.

If the questions unsettle you, then turn them around, and let them settle you. Invite Christ to be Lord and Master of your life, and the questions will affirm you are on the right path.

TODAY’S HEART FOCUS
Review your personal answers to the questions. If they unsettle your confidence that you are Heaven-bound, make a fresh commitment to Christ. As the questions settle your faith, give God thanks.
