The Power of “NO”
"No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it." - 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13
A man who was feeling a little low went into a local diner for breakfast. “Bring me a poached egg on toast and a good word,” he said to the waitress. She soon returned with his order, set it down, and turned to walk away. “Wait a minute,” he said. “What about that good word?” She leaned down and whispered, “Don’t eat the egg!” I’m a positive person, but sometimes it’s important to observe some negatives in life.
For example, when temptation comes – and it will – we need to learn the power of “no.” We must take it a step further, too, and not only say “no” to temptation, but to say “yes” to God and His righteousness and truth. Are you facing a temptation? Then say “yes” to God. He will enable you to answer your temptation with a resounding “no!”
