Freedom of Religion, Not Freedom from Religion!
The First Amendment states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
It’s our constitutional right to the freedom of religion – and how we treasure it!
The trouble is, many people fall into the trap of thinking the First Amendment means freedom from religion; that the Church and State are to be kept apart.
But this is a false dichotomy! As Jesus’ ambassadors, you and I are called be deeply involved in our society, living and speaking in such a way that we make a tangible, lasting difference in our communities, our cities, and our country – even as our culture drifts further and further away from biblical standards.
That’s right… we Christians must be vocal in the public square. Because if those who follow God and His standards remain silent, our society will only continue to deteriorate.
So what does speaking out look like? Well for one, don’t neglect your civil responsibility to make your voice heard at the ballot box. Christians need to vote!
And most importantly, as Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:16 …
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”Matthew 5:16
The best way to change our culture is to lovingly and winsomely live out the truth you already know. Share the good news with others. Walk in Jesus’ power and wisdom as you discuss the matters of the day.
Friend, it’s never been more important to know what you believe and why you believe it and then to get on with the business of sharing it with others in word and deed. And that’s why The Winning Walk is here – to equip you to live in the light of God’s Word in every sphere of your life!
