Why Jesus is your ultimate life coach

Jesus your Ultimate life Coach

A lot of people put a huge amount of time and energy into developing their physical fitness. They watch what they eat and hit the gym – motivated by pain, vanity, or simply the desire to live a long, healthy life.

What would happen if we as Christians put the same amount of time and energy into our spiritual health as we did our physical fitness?

Acquiring good health, fitness, and a finely sculpted body costs something—money, time, and effort. You need to set aside time for exercise, which can feel painful and boring.

The same applies to our spiritual fitness. A one-hour service on Sundays is not enough. First Timothy 4:7-8 tells us…

Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
1 Timothy 4:7-8

To get on the track of godliness, we need a life coach – one who is powerful, authentic, caring, and a teacher of the right curriculum. And who embodies those attributes more than Jesus Christ?

The great thing is that Jesus has already selected you and me to be a part of His team. He offers us that invitation in Matthew 11:28-29…

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-29

So, now that we have God’s promise that He’ll coach us, we have to become coachable!

Fortunately, Jesus isn’t interested in only first-draft picks for His team. He doesn’t expect us to already have it all together. He wants those who are weary and heavy-laden. He wants those with a willingness to play on His team and be coached by Him.
